Sound editor

What's it good for?

With this kind of software we can edit sound files, change them, convert them, add effects, mix and do all kinds of other cool stuff to sound files. We may also use this to record music or anything else that we want.

Similar softwares that cost... $$$

Adobe has two great softwares, Soundbooth for simple editing, and Audition for advanced users. Apple has a very good application only for macs - Garageband.

Audacity

A professional sound application that has all the features from the advanced softwares in this area. It has multiple channels so we can add sound in a new channel for undestructive work. A lot of options for effects and playing with the sound, and we could always install more stuff with plug-in's found on the internet. The interface is very friendly, even for beginners.
